Our team

Respiratory Therapists (RTs) have expertise in airway management, including difficult airways and mechanical ventilation strategies. Our team includes 50 RTs as well as an assistant chief, a clinical educator and a technical coordinator. RTs provide services to inpatient medical units, the neonatal and pediatric intensive care units and the Emergency Department at the Montreal Children’s Hospital.  Our RTs are also members of the resuscitation and trauma teams. There are also ultra-specialized RTs who have received extensive training in the management and transport of critically ill and premature infants. Some of our RTs are also members of the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) team, which supports children who need to be stabilized on a heart and lung bypass machine that delivers oxygen directly to their blood stream.

Our team uses and trains with the latest technologies and are always seeking to implement better ways to provide respiratory support to our patients.
