Interpreters
Both French and English are spoken by staff and health professionals at the
Montreal Children's Hospital-and did you know we have interpreters who speak a
total of 50 other languages?
The hospital's
Multiculturalism
Program provides about 7,000 interpretations every year. The most
common requests are from people who speak Cantonese, Mandarin, Spanish and
Tamil.
-
If you and your child cannot speak English or French, or have limited
understanding of these languages, the Multiculturalism Program can arrange for
an interpreter to meet with you during your child's appointment.
-
It's always a good idea to arrange for an interpreter at least 24 hours before
your appointment. Staff members will pass on your request to the
Multiculturalism Program.
