Hospital visit

Packing your child's suitcase

Children do not need to wear a hospital gown unless it's required for treatment purposes or medical procedures. They are usually more comfortable wearing their own clothes. When packing your child's bag remember the following:

Clothing Toiletries
  • pyjamas
  • slippers
  • pants
  • shirts
  • undergarments
  • shoes
  • bathrobe
  • toothpaste
  • toothbrush
  • dental floss
  • shampoo/conditioner
  • soap
  • brush/comb
  • baby wipes
  • diapers

You should also bring any medication your child is taking and give it to their nurse. Finally, include a favourite book, toy, or game and a family photograph to help your child feel more at home.
