Activities

Activities

  • Quiet activities today with close supervision.  May watch television.
  • No bicycle, sports, or gym until after your next appointment.
  • No swimming for at least 3 weeks.
School

School

May go back to school after 3 days. Please check with your doctor.
Bath

Bath

  • May resume tub bath tomorrow.
  • Be careful not to splash bath water into eyes. If the eyes are sticky, clean with a face cloth soaked in lukewarm water.
  • Wipe from inside to outside (nose to ear direction).
  • The eyes may remain reddish for one month.
Medication

Medication

  • For pain, give Acetaminophen (Tylenol or Tempra) every 4 hours if needed.
  • Dimming the lights and/or applying cool, wet and clean compresses may provide additional comfort.
Diet

Diet

  • Give water, apple juice, popsicle, flat Ginger ale or Jell-O for one to two hours.
  • If tolerated, proceed with a soft diet such as soup, yogourt, ice cream and cereal.
  • Tomorrow, he/she may be given a normal diet.
