A letter of hope from one parent to another

Seventeen years ago, my daughter was diagnosed with lymphoblastic leukemia at 12 years old.

I remember the day like yesterday. I credit the doctors at the Montreal Children’s Hospital for saving her life.

I know what it’s like to be going through a difficult time, knowing your child is sick. Luckily, with all that is being done to help treat childhood cancer, the results are much better than they were 17 years ago.

My heart goes out to all those families who have sick children and who are battling this crazy illness. Despite battling cancer, my daughter Cindy grew up to be a strong woman and is now 29 years old. I will never be able to adequately thank all the doctors and nurses at the Children's for their excellent care giving.

God bless them,

Cindy's mom, Carol xo
