Love from Leo

A grateful mom thanks hospital staff during a lengthy hospitalization

Our son has been at the NICU since the day he was born on December 6th, 2016. I was 24 weeks pregnant when Leo was diagnosed with Osteogenesis Imperfecta, an inherited genetic disorder that weakens the bones and makes them break, or fracture, easily. When I went into labour, I was quickly transferred to the Royal Victoria Hospital to have a c-section, as we knew that Leo’s condition would require special care as soon as he came into the world.

He is now almost 3 months old. Leo has an AMAZING team of specialists and incredible nurses who take such good care of him by always putting his needs first. Thank you so much for all the great care you have provided and all the little adjustments you make to ensure he is comfortable and that his needs are met. No words can express just how grateful we are to have the chance to know our little guy, and enjoy everything he teaches us with his incredible strength.

Thank you :)
