Trauma continues to be the leading cause of death and disability in children, teens, and young adults. In the field of trauma, after the fact is often too late. A split second impulsive decision can result in a life altering event that impacts the person involved, his/her family, his/her friends and the community.

As a teenager, you are in a high-risk trauma category. Understandably, this is a stage in your life where you want to assert your independence, have more privileges, and make your own choices. Sometimes you may feel invincible and want to experience the thrill of the moment, without necessarily considering the consequences. For many teenagers, peer acceptance and respect is more important than anything.

From a trauma and injury prevention perspective, our challenge is to find a way to encourage you to be active, have fun, develop a sense of responsibility and demonstrate sound judgment. We hope that this section of the website will offer you the autonomy you need to reach your goals and encourage smart choices that can have an impact on the rest of your life.
