The Surgical Day Centre (SDC) team prepares patients and families for the surgical experience, and provides post-surgical care and assessment. The service includes physical assessment of your child, required consultation, appropriate laboratory work-up and psychological preparation for what to expect on the day of surgery.

The Cardiovascular Surgery Team at the Montreal Children’s Hospital provides consultation, evaluation, surgical care, and follow-up care for an entire range of pediatric surgical conditions in children from birth to early adulthood who have congenital (present at birth) and acquired (not present at birth but developing afterwards) cardiac and pulmonary disease.

The Montreal Children’s Hospital’s Craniofacial and Cleft Surgery team is dedicated to the treatment of children with craniofacial disorders (affecting bones of the skull and face).

Patients are at the heart of our mission. The Pediatric General Surgery team, made up of surgeons, nurses and other staff members, understands that surgery can be stressful for a child and the family. We respect every patient’s needs and work together to ensure the child’s well-being.

The Montreal Children’s Hospital Spina Bifida Service brings together specialists from several services at the hospital to provide care to children who have shunts (a tube which drains fluid from around the brain), as well as children with varying degrees of motor and sensory deficits, and children with neurogenic bladder and bowel (a condition which affects the spinal cord nerves that control bladder and bowel function).

The Montreal Children's Hospital Speech Pathology Department offers a wide array of services for children and adolescents who have speech and language problems.

Provides physical and psycho-social assessment of children and adolescents where there is a question of sexual abuse.

Our team treats patients with a variety of conditions including tumours, congenital neurosurgical problems, epilepsy, spasticity, craniofacial and any neurological problems which may or may not have a surgical component.

Sociocultural Consultation and Interpretation Services work throughout the Montreal Children’s Hospital. Language and cultural interpretations are conducted in all clinics, wards and Emergency both face to face and by telephone.
