The Montreal Children’s Hospital Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) offers state-of-the-art care within a patient-and family-centred philosophy for critically ill or injured newborns, children, and adolescents. This 18-bed unit is a major provincial, national and international referral centre and admits over 850 patients per year.

The Complex Care Service at the Montreal Children’s Hospital helps many patients and families who are dealing with a variety of complex medical conditions that require short-, medium- or long term care coordination. 

The Montreal Children’s Hospital’s Craniofacial and Cleft Surgery team is dedicated to the treatment of children with craniofacial disorders (affecting bones of the skull and face). 

The Chronic Pain Management Clinic at The Montreal Children’s Hospital helps patients and families dealing with physical, psychological, spiritual and social factors associated with complex medical conditions. 

Our Child Protection Program works with the hospital’s Department of Social Services and the Division of Adolescent Medicine/Gynecology to provide services to children and adolescents.

The Montreal Children’s Hospital established one of the first Child Life Departments in North America in 1936.
