Objectives 

Part I:

  • Describe the unique benefits that parental participation can have in resource-limited hospitals
  • List the challenges associated with increasing parental participation in pediatric hospital care in resource-limited settings

Part II:

  • Learn about context of the health system in a peaceful, emerging middle income country to provide insight towards preparing for global health placements in non-conflict countries in Southern Africa
  • Learn about innovative opportunities to collaborate with African healthcare organizations and contribute remotely towards global health/ advocacy during the COVID19 pandemic with ongoing travel restrictions
