Family Literacy Day
Imagine: Lire/Read, the literacy promotion project at the Montreal Children’s Hospital, will hold a Family Literacy Day activity on Wednesday, January 28. Starting at 8:00 in the Amphitheatre, author Roch Carrier will address doctors and nurses at Pediatric Medical Grand Rounds. Mr. Carrier, who was the National Librarian of Canada from 1997 to 2004, has written many stories, books and plays including Le chandail d’Hockey / The Hockey Sweater. After Grand Rounds, Mr. Carrier will stop at several hospital units to read The Hockey Sweater in French and English.

Volunteers will give books to children on the units. There will also be a draw for a hockey sweater, as well as a hockey stick donated by the Montréal Canadiens and autographed by every team member. Proceeds will support the project.
