Despite a roller coaster job market, nursing offers a great future

If recent nursing graduates are discouraged by their lack of home-province job opportunities, the Canadian Nursing Federation says there's no reason to panic.
 
Although cutbacks to health-care funding in the wave of a global recession have led to cuts in new full-time nursing positions up for grabs in a few regions, some provinces are still hiring.
 
Despite the tumultuous job market for nurses, many leaders in the profession say the present climate does not mean new graduates will not find full-time jobs.
 
Canada currently has a shortfall of about 20,000 full-time nurses to meet existing need.
