Health Canada recalls 1, 890 "Mamma Bird" plush toys

Health Canada issued a recall on Tuesday for some 1, 890 plush “Mamma Bird” toys sold at dollar stores across Canada. Theses toys, made by Betallic LLC are described as red and black birds with hard plastic eyes, soft yellow beaks, and soft yellow feet. The recalled products can be identified by UPC 030625703680.

Health Canada announced its decision to recall the product was made after a sampling and evaluation program identified that the hard plastic eyes on the bird can detach, making these small parts pose a choking hazard to young children.

Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of this toy. It has advised consumers to immediately take the recalled plush bird toys away from children and dispose of them in regular household garbage.
