Health Canada recalls Girls' Hello Kitty 2-Piece pyjama sets

Health Canada has issued recall on  Girls' Hello Kitty 2-Piece pyjama sets that include a short-sleeved top and boxer shorts after it was determined that the recalled sleepwear does not meet the design and flammability requirements for children's sleepwear under Canadian law.

Children's sleepwear that is loose fitting or that has loose edges can contact ignition sources such as stove elements, candles, and matches more easily than tight-fitting sleepwear. Once ignited the sleepwear can burn rapidly and cause severe burns to large areas of the child's body, resulting in shock and sometimes death.

Neither Health Canada nor NTD Apparel Inc. has received reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of this sleepwear. The pyjamas are made of 95% cotton and 5% spandex, come in sizes 2-6X.

Specifically, the recalled sleepwear has style number 34494 and CA number 33990, which can be found on a tag inside the top and shorts.

Consumers that have purchased these items should immediately take the recalled sleepwear away from children and return them to NTD Apparel Inc. for a full refund.
