Making the headlines: Dr Emil

Dr. Sherif Emil, head of Pediatric General Surgery at the MCH, was recently interviewed on The Link, which is broadcast on Radio Canada International. In the interview, Dr. Emil talks about growing up in Egypt, Nigeria, and Saudi Arabia before coming to North America at age 17. He talks about studying at McGill University and his profound commitment to Third World Medicine. Dr. Emil made headlines last year when he performed surgery on a bi-racial child, removing a tumour from the boy's forehead using a procedure that helped prevent scarring of the boy’s skin.
