MCH presents its new ER department

The renovations to the MCH Emergency Department are over! The renos were completed in four phases over a two year period of time. The new ER makes use of every inch of space, allows for greater patient privacy, helps prevents the spread of infectious diseases and helps maximize efficiency. Some of the new features include new examination rooms, a bigger asthma treatment area, a new pre-triage and waiting area and an ER staff lounge. Also, as part of the renovations, the Auxiliary of the MCH opened Café Vienne to give patients and staff easier access to hot food.

Renovating this crucial area of the hospital was no easy feat. Our personnel were stepping around construction workers and over equipment. The administration of the MCH and the MCH Foundation salute the ER staff for their patience during the renos. The construction work never stopped them from going the extra mile to care for an ever increasing number of patients.
Congratulations to the MCH Emergency team… the best in North America!

The ER improvements were achieved thanks to the vision of all the donors who contributed to the Montreal Children's Hospital Foundation's corporate appeal campaign, masterfully led by Mr. Sean Finn, Executive Vice-President Corporate Services and Chief Legal Officer at CN. This campaign raised more than $2.6 M!

Take a look at our hard-working staff in the newly renovated ER.
