MUHC Annual Report 2010-2011: Our Strength is Our People

A forest of steel cranes rises from the new Glen Site – a constant reminder that The Redevelopment Project is moving forward. Less visible but equally vital is the steady progress towards the completion of modern, expanded facilities at the Lachine and Montreal General Hospitals. Our collective dream – new facilities for better patient care – is beginning to take shape.

But while new buildings and state-of-the-art equipment are vitally important to patient care, people are at the very heart of what we do. It is people that make the MUHC what it is – a truly outstanding health care centre.

This annual report introduces some of the many exceptional people whose dedication and hard work are helping patients and their families across Montreal, and Quebec. Some work with the most vulnerable individuals in society – homeless people with HIV or hepatitis C. Others perform delicate, minimally invasive surgery on cancer patients, or work in multidisciplinary teams to care for patients in remote areas using telehealth technology.

Each person at the MUHC makes a unique and important contribution. Each helps us to deliver the best care to our patients today while we work to find ways to deliver even better care tomorrow. People are our strength, and we are proud to present some of their many accomplishments in this year’s annual report.
