Seasonal-Flu Vaccination started on January 11

Unlike in the past, seasonal-flu vaccination starts in January this year, instead of mid-November.

Vaccination is free for people at higher risk of developing complications either due to their age or health auch as children age 6 to 23 months.

People in close contact with children less than 6 months old can also receive vaccine at no charge.

To be vaccinated, contact your doctor or CLSC in your health and social services centre.

The vaccine is safe and does not contain any live virus. As a result, it cannot transmit the disease. Vaccination cannot protect you, however, against more mundane infections such as colds, which are often mistaken for the flu.
