Valentine’s Day “Huggies” for our patients

On Valentine’s Day, 10 young students from eight schools will be visiting The Montreal Children’s Hospital to spend time with our patients and offer them a Valentine’s Day gift basket.

It started with a hug five years ago…

The project originated five years ago at Michelangelo Elementary School where Vince Lacroce, Spiritual Community Animator, and
Sonia Arnoldo, Cycle 1 teacher, decided to bring some cheer to Sabrina Di Giandomenico, a brain tumor patient at the MCH. This year eight schools are continuing this project in memory of Sabrina, who passed away in 2003.

Big “huggies”, big efforts

The project is called “Huggies” because it signifies giving “big hugs” to kids at the hospital. The schools’ combined efforts helped bring in over 2,000 gifts and over 150 personalized baskets for the kids.

Fundraising Dinner

In addition, to mark the 5th anniversary of this important project for the MCH, Laurier Macdonald High School has joined forces with La Plaza Reception Hall to create the first ever "Huggies Valentine's Dinner" on Saturday, February 10th. All proceeds from this event will benefit the Montreal Children's Hospital Foundation.
