Warning about infant bath seats and bath rings

Since 1984 there have been 50 drownings related to the use of infant bath rings and bath seats in Canada. Ontario’s Coroner-in-Chief, Jim Cairns, is advocating for a ban on these products.

According to Cairns, parents have a false sense of safety when using these products and feel they can leave their infant alone for a couple of minutes if they need to answer the phone or get a towel.

Bath rings and bath seats are safe ONLY if someone is with the baby at all times.
