Family Literacy Day at the Montreal Children's Hospital will be celebrated on Monday, January 29. In partnership with the Centre for Literacy, activities will include an information booth for parents, book giveaways, and games for one and all. Roch Carrier, the celebrated writer and author of the popular book "The Hockey Sweater", will read his book in French at 11:00 a.m. and in English at 1:30 p.m. Children from the wards and their parents are welcome to join in. Mr. Carrier will also address MCH staff in the Amphitheatre at noon to share his personal commitment to the MCH's literacy project and his views about the connections between reading to and with children and their cognitive development and well-being.
