Support the establishment of a universal hearing-screening program for Quebec newborns
Please support The Montreal Children’s Hospital (MCH) as it urges the government of Quebec to establish a universal hearing-screening program for Quebec newborns. Sign the letter below today!
Hearing loss is one of the most common birth defects. It is estimated that between one and three of every 1,000 newborns have significant hearing loss. When hearing loss is detected early, steps can be taken to significantly improve the child’s hearing and help the child learn to talk.
Most Canadian provinces already have well-established hearing-screening programs for newborns. Quebec children deserve the same level of care.
Please download the letter (PDF file at the bottom of the page), print it and then sign your name. This will indicate that you support the establishment of a universal hearing-screening program in Quebec. Don’t forget to include your address. Then send your letter before the end of May to The Montreal Children’s Hospital of the MUHC.
