Trauma….. Surviving, but in what state?”

Secondary V students across the city are currently in an exciting time of their life where they are gaining independence by becoming drivers and planning their graduation parties.

MCH Trauma has developed a partnership with the Service de Police de la Ville de Montreal (SPVM) and ThinkFirst Foundation - Quebec. The objective of this collaboration is to increase awareness of life altering consequences of risky driving behaviours, to encourage responsibility and to give the message that teens have a choice. MCH Trauma is conducting an evaluation of the effectiveness of this comprehensive injury prevention initiative.

The role of the MCH Trauma experts from all services and departments is to explain to students what happens with respect to trauma care from the time of the incident to ER, surgery, ICU and rehabilitation with the goal of enhancing their understanding of the devastating consequences of risky behaviours.
