Montréal, July 4, 2007 – The public is seeking reliable health advice and information and for this reason, The Montreal Children’s Hospital of the MUHC is hosting its third edition of Mini-Med School at The Children’s. Mini Med School is offered in English on Mondays and in French on Wednesdays.
Mini Med School at The Children’s provides practical advice on not only how to care for kids but also about the science behind the care. Parents, grandparents, young people considering medical careers, budding science journalists, as well as teachers and daycare workers are invited to spend 1.5 hours a week with leading medical specialists from The Montreal Children’s Hospital and the McGill Faculty of Medicine.
This year our English series features specialists in autism, palliative care, emergency medicine, anesthesiology, orthopedics, and child development. Our French lecturers include specialists in cardiac surgery, dentistry (the doctor has been campaigning to get fluoride in Montreal’s drinking water), neurosurgery, oto-rhino-laryngology (the doctor used botox to save a child’s life and performs tongue surgery to reduce enlarged tongues), obesity, child development (why is it so darn difficult to be a teenager?).
