Newly recognized category of eating disorder gives doctors tools to diagnose children who have a different motivation to limit food intake
Approximately six out of 1000 newborns are born with hearing loss, and one in 10 children will develop a hearing problem sometime during childhood. Some problems are temporary, and some problems are permanent.
There are numerous causes of hearing loss in infancy. Some examples include a family history of hearing loss, low birth weight, complications after birth, or ear infections.
By identifying hearing impaired children at a very young age, health professionals can intervene faster to ensure they can communicate well with other people.
