New! Call For Patient Education Materials Grant Proposals 2009

The Patient Education Network Committee, which reports to the Central Executive Committee of the Multidisciplinary and Nursing Councils of the MUHC, is calling for submissions of grant requests for the development and production of projects for patient education.

These projects must be used directly by patients or their parent(s), guardian or family member(s) on their behalf, either as booklets, videos, education sheets, and/or in electronic format for inclusion on the MUHC Intranet or as a CD-ROM. The grant monies have generally been in the $1000 to $2000 ranges.

The deadline for submissions is Monday, March 23, 2009. You can submit a short proposal of 1 to 2 pages in length and send 14 copies of each proposal to room E4.02 at the RVH to the attention of Rita Riccio, MUHC Administrative Assistant of the Multidisciplinary & Nursing Councils.

Proposals can include projects in any stage of project development: e.g. funding for focus groups with patients; editorial assistance to achieve a low literacy level; graphics and illustration; translation and evaluation or revision of an existing project.

Patient education materials meeting the MUHC Patient Education Standards will, with permission of the authors, be posted on the MUHC Health Education Collection /Infothèque – an intranet-based collection of patient learning materials.
