Walk for Kids help Phone

On April 18, the Kids Help Phone and Bell Canada kicked off the sixth annual Bell Walk for Kids Help Phone campaign to raise much-needed funds to meet the growing demand for the charity’s phone and web counseling services. Kids Help Phone offers a toll-free, 24-hour, bilingual and anonymous phone and web counselling, referral and information service for children and youth.

In 2006, Kids Help Phone helped young people in need from almost 3,000 Canadian communities more than 1.5 million times through its phone and online services.

This year, Kids Help Phone will focus their efforts to help kids deal with cyberbullying. A report by the organization shows that more and more young people are dealing with bullying and harassment by e-mail, instant messaging, text messages, blogs, mobile phones and websites on a daily basis.

The Bell Walk for Kids Help Phone will take place on Sunday, May 6 in more than 50 communities from coast to coast.
