The Montreal Children's Hospital (MCH) of the McGill University Health Centre is a provincially designated Pediatric and Adolescent Trauma Centre, a Neurotrauma Centre of Expertise, and an important player in the provincial trauma network. The hospital is dedicated to its trauma mandate with a well-developed Emergency Trauma Response system, a commitment to making the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) accessible, and a variety of innovative inpatient and outpatient programs.
The Surgical Day Centre (SDC) team prepares patients and families for the surgical experience, and provides post-surgical care and assessment. The service includes physical assessment of your child, required consultation, appropriate laboratory work-up and psychological preparation for what to expect on the day of surgery.
Patients are at the heart of our mission. The Pediatric General Surgery team, made up of surgeons, nurses and other staff members, understands that surgery can be stressful for a child and the family. We respect every patient’s needs and work together to ensure the child’s well-being.
Our mission is to take care of children up to age 18 who have any orthopedic injury or condition.
The Cardiovascular Surgery Team at the Montreal Children’s Hospital provides consultation, evaluation, surgical care, and follow-up care for an entire range of pediatric surgical conditions in children from birth to early adulthood who have congenital (present at birth) and acquired (not present at birth but developing afterwards) cardiac and pulmonary disease.
